My friend has wanted to start smoking i have been smoking for years , he wants to smoke so i said to him to try the e cig , i have only been smoking the e cig for a couple of months now all he wants to know is , will it have any side effects on him , will it make him run slower? have bad lungs ect…?

If he does not smoke today then he should stay away from electronic cigarettes. Tell him “NO”.
There have not been enough extensive studies on the electric cigarette to state emphatically what the long term health effects may or may not be. One thing is for sure; though, nicotine is highly addictive and it has adverse effects on those with heart problems.
You should encourage your friend to not smoke anything! Why start a hard-to-break habit for no reason? If he/she absolutely cannot be dissuaded, the electric cigarette is certainly a better option than a standard “analog” cigarette.
Although my individual case should certainly not be used as a hard and fast “applies to all” rule, ever since I quit smoking regular cigarettes and switched to electric cigarettes exclusively, I no longer wake up each morning coughing up pieces of my lungs. I breathe easier now and feel better. I would suspect, however, that I might breathe easier-still if I did not smoke anything at all!
